I'm writing a novel, and there will be a short scene in an emergency room where the main character's brother is in a motorcycle accident with serious but not fatal injuries. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the process is after someone is brought into a trauma area. I don't really know what happens because I've never seen anyone brought into a trauma room, and never known anyone in that bad of an accident. I figured it would consist of strap them down, medicate them slightly, and put an IV in, but that's all I've got. It doesn't have to be a very in-depth answer, just the basic process that the patient goes through until they are moved to the regular ER room (which I'm already familiar with). Thanks in advance!
