Liberals have told me that they are not against profit and business, as long as the profit is "fair" and "honest".

So what is that? Do they want big government to tell us how much of our profits is fair?

Give me some examples of a business who obtained their profits in a way that is morally WRONG.

There is the principle of 'gouging' where a person with a temporary monopoly drastically raises prices. An example of this would be stores charging vastly inflated prices for drinking water after Hurricane Katrina.

Another example of an imoral or dishonest profit would be an unregulated monopoly where the supply of a resource is held by one organization that can then charge 'what the market will bear.' (The only remaining unregulated monopolies remaining in the US are the labor unions.)
