In cell A1 i have enter 1 and in cell C1 i have entered 100's and in cell D1 i have entered a formula =A1*C1 but then i get the result #VALUE. Is it because I have the apostrophe in the 100? I really need to have that apostrophe because it is required. What should I do. Please help! thanks!

The apostrophe turns the cell's entry into text, not a number. You can't multiply text. But, hey, if you gotta have it, you gotta have it. However, your formula is never going to work as long as you keep it.

Well I don't know what your end result needs to be, but 100 is a number and 100's is text, you CANNOT multiply with text, because it's not a number.
