facebook chat says friends are offline, click to chat and they are no

longer on line, cant receive or send?!? I have used both internet explorer and mozilla firefox and neither work. When my friends go on to their facebook at my house their chat works fine, all their friends are on and they are visible to their friends as well. Even when I go on at a friends house it still doesn't work, right when i click on anyone that is on they go "offline" but it happens to every friend all the time. This has been going on for over two months and i haven't been able to send or receive a message in that long.
It's not the browser. It's not my computer or my friends would also not work and mine would work at their houses.
 
this has happened to me several times. also, i've had it impossible to send my chat messages and sometimes it sends the same message several times. it has done a lot of strange things. i think facebook chat is really just messed up. but it seems like it is doubly messed up on yours. im not sure why. if i were you i would set up another account. i know, it would be really annoying to start over, but if that's the only solution, you'll have to, unless you want to live with the problem.
 
Sounds like you need to direct your question to the people over at Facebook. im sure the staff can help you out
