Hey don't quit your day job yet, LOL, December 12, 2012 comes from the Mayan calendar which does in fact end on 2012 but the new cycle begins. People forget that. It's supposed to be a time of celebration, a time of renewal but people conveniently forget that fact and say the world ends on 2012. It's a fact that sun and earth will align, it's a fact that there is a black hole in the center of the galaxy, but this will not destroy the earth. There will be a jupiter effect that happens once every century, the planets will actually align and that's how the movie begins in fact. The sun and the earth will align at the center of the milky galaxy but that happens every year. The alignment takes place every year, the jupiter effect takes place once every century and hey we're still here.
In the movie the earth shifts, the south pole comes near Wisconsin, LOL. This movie is the mother of all shake and bake movies, i love this movie the special effects i give it an A, but science an F. It's embedded in our western culture, apocolyptic visions, the things of ending, however, in the east it's more like cycles rather than endings. Remember Y2K? Tremendous hysteria around it. Remember 6/6/06, all the hysteria of end of earth? I'm going to be sleeping soundly in 2013.
