A federal judge on Wednesday granted a temporary injunction against a Nebraska law (LB 594) that would require women seeking abortions to undergo extensive physical and medical screenings, the Omaha Word-Herald reports. The law was scheduled to take effect today. A lawsuit was filed against the measure in June by Planned Parenthood of the Heartland (Stoddard, Omaha World-Herald, 7/14). The law would require doctors to screen abortion patients for "physical, psychological, emotional, demographic or situational" risk factors...
