...as for tongues, they will? Fellow Christians: ‘Love never ends; as for prophecy, it will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away. For our knowledge is imperfect and our prophecy is imperfect; but when the perfect comes, the imperfect will pass away.’ 1 Corinthians: 13: 8-10.

What is your understanding of this chapter and verses given in 1 Corinthians, does it have a double meaning?
By the way, for those who ‘assume,’ this is not homework or such like, it is just a question!

Well the Sun shines, all the time. I am telling you straight: if you live under the clouds, the sun may shine, but you won't be getting a tan. You may rub tanning lotion upon yourself, and say of yourself that you have a healthy tan; also, you may start to believe it is a natural tan. You may tell yourself that your fake tan gives you lots of qualities, and makes you a better person: that will give you more incentive to put more fake tan lotion on yourself.

Now I am telling you: it doesn't matter which country you are residing in, if you stand under the sun, you'll get a tan. So if you are getting a tan, you will not say "this is a Christian tan" or "this is a Hindu tan", or "this is a Muslim tan" or, "this is an Atheist tan".

If you are stood under the sun, you don't give a damn about what brand of sun tan lotion other people are using to fake a tan. If the sun shines on you, there is no such thing as clouds. Only pale people lust over a tan! People that live in hot climates have to rest in shade so they don't damage their bodies. You don't get Africans comparing tans!

So I'm telling you straight: when you pick up a bottle of "Christian sun tan lotion" and rub it on your body; that effect, it is not a real tan. You can call that sun tan lotion "the holy bible", and cover yourself in it every hour if you wish: nothing in that bottle will bring you a tan. If you want a real tan, the fake lotion has to go, and all the clouds have to go!

Corinthians is a cloud.
The Bhagavad Gita is a cloud.
The Koran is a cloud.
Kant is a cloud.
Nietzsche is a cloud.
Blake is a cloud,
Kipling is a cloud.
Thoughts make clouds.
All the messengers of God want to put clouds in your brain and sell you fake tanning lotion!

You want to know about love, here is an experiment for you.
Buy yourself a Dog. Just observe the Dog! Don't pretend the Dog is being nice to you because he's got God in his heart, just observe how Dog behaves.
A Dog will give you unconditional affection; thus, if you want, you can ask your Dog what he thinks of Corinthians. If you are lucky, he might urinate upon your copy.

I'll tell you something: Talk about love and justice and equality is just barking. My barking will mean nothing to a Dog. I am barking at you. If what I say offends or charms you: it is you "interpreting" my barking which creates that sentiment in you.

A dog barking is more melodious than "the Buddha talking" or "the sermon on the mount". If Jesus came back, you would be chasing him around trying to understand his teaching, so you can get a tan.

If my Dog met Jesus, he'd treat Jesus like he treats me: he'd take his toy over, and badger Jesus, till Jesus agreed to play.
If you really thought that knowledge is imperfect, you would stop asking questions: come on! You are kidding yourself.
 
To me it is saying that Love is the greatest and will never cease. Our faith and hope in the Lord will become reality once we are in His presence and can see Him face to face. We will have no more need for prophecy, faith, knowledge, or hope. All of it is Him.
 
Contrasting the permanence of Love with some other things that people really enjoyed.
I don't think it was any kind of indirect commandment/heads up on glossalalia. I like to believe in ecstatic utterance, even though I've never really had one.
 
It clearly allows us to understand that there would be a time that all these things would cease to exist, except for love.

The true Christians today aren't identifiable by miracles, but by their love. Since the bible is complete there's no need more for those things.

(John 13:35) By this all will know that YOU are my disciples, if YOU have love among yourselves.”
 
Of all the charisms and things in the church, they are or have gone away.

For example: there are no universal (aka - general revelation) prophets today. People do not speak in tongues (in the traditional sense of speaking in a foreign language without training). Knowledge is passing away as well, as the various branches of Christianity have split over minor differences in knowledge.

What endures, and what we must remain commited to above all else, is the very fundamental aspect of what it's all about: God is Love, and God is endless. We must remain commited to unconditional love for everyone if we are to succeed as Christians.
