We have had them both since they were little puppies, We got the male first, and a few months later, we bought the female. Yes, they are related, (both have same father). They never had any problem with each other when they were younger, always were playful towards each other, now almost everyday, our female dog, will attack the male for no apparent reason. We're thinking it could be an act of jealousy, but were not quite sure. Any suggestions?
Both are basset hounds.
&&; The male is neutered.

Dogs have their own unique language: literally anything could "set them off" and we wouldn't notice because we don't watch every little movement or expression. If this is a constant thing then the best thing you can do is bring in a behaviorist to examine them - a behaviorist could tell you the problem and how to fix it with minimal damage to dogs or humans.

Does it happen often - like every day, once a week, etc? Is there any pattern to it? Does it happen at a certain time during the day? Are there toys involved? Food? People? Are the dogs excited?
