Fiberglassing The Bottom of a Aluminum Boat?

I just got a 14' aluminum boat and i was wanting to reinforce it by puttin fiberglass resin on the bottom of it..Think it would work....or be worth messin with. I float the river alot and it will get drug across rocks and I figured that might help it. Any ideas????
or what about herculiner which would be better???
 
the fiberglass kits that are sold in the auto parts stores are polyester resin, and will not adhere to the boat for very long. if you spend the money to but epoxy resin, and properly prepare the surface, you will have better luck. i have white water canoed with aluminum boats and never had a problem unless i hit something really sharp with the boat
