file formats? need help.?

what audio file is more common to play on every day stereos and old stereos. are wav files compatible? i cant find a converter to convert mp3 files into normal audio files so i am reverting to this if any1 can suggest a FREE converter that would help

On everyday stereos it's common to play Audio CD's or MP3 files, if you stereo system support that format.
What files are you trying to convert, and into what format, that what we need to know.
Go to google and type something like waw to mp3 converter and you will get a lot af good stuff.
