I won't sugarcoat it-- I am overweight. I am 19 years old, female, 5'8" tall, and I weigh in at a whopping 225 lbs. Because I realize it will only get worse from here on out as I get older, I'm trying to get into some healthy habits now before it's too late. I already eat healthy food (just a lot more of it than I should), so the next part is exercise.

Recently, I've started running a 2 mile loop through a local park 4 times a week-- for now there's a lot more walking involved than running, but I'm working on it. It currently takes me about 40 minutes to do the loop and I'm hoping to get that down to 20 (averaging out to 10 minutes a mile... that's 4 minutes shorter than I've ever done) once I've settled into the routine a bit more. So that takes care of cardio... I did ballet for 10 years so I'm pulling stretches and strength exercises from that, but I was wondering if there's anything else I should be doing to round out my work out? My legs and back are already pretty strong, but my core and arms are almost ridiculously weak... Any suggestions on what to do to remedy those particular problems?
