Many children were not killed. Statistics show that more than 50,000 Chinese abandoned babies have been adopted by foreign families since the 1990s, and the number keeps rising. Foreign-related adoption not only helps release the burden of Chinese orphanages, but gives family love to the children who badly need it.

Sex Ratio
Many Chinese males are marrying other ethnic Asians and non Asians, increasing Chinese diversity.
Chinese have become more tolerant of homosexuality in large cities, especially Shanghai. One financial upturn has been the rapid increase in gay tourism in China.

China can have a society where parents can feed their one child or they can have a society where families have lots of relatives that are starving. That's China's choice.
