...phone or can you get any one?!? Ok so im getting an upgrade in January and i have no idea what the "rules" are for it. It doesnt have to be free . Cause apparently other companies you can get certain phones for free for an upgrade . But i wanted to know if you could buy one because usually the free ones arent good.

Some featured phones in Verizon require a $9.99 data plan. The others that don't require a data plan are not that great. Try checking out smart phones but they require like a more expensive data plan. You must have the data plan in order to get some phones.

Alot of phones are free with upgrade, but you might have to pay a small fee for bigger phones such as the droid
