free hot spring hike&swim N. CA?

Me and my family are planning a vacation for memorial day & want to go to a secluded warm water hot spring where you dont have to pay. Nice n natural. Know of any hot spots? Preferably within 3hours of sac.
 
Most of the best free hot springs are way out there beyond the 3 hour drive from Sacramento, however I found you a link with a list of some great swimming holes that you can hike to and enjoy within a couple hours drive.
