Free iPhone/iPod touch apps?

TWO QUESTIONS:

FIRST QUESTION: I just got an iTouch on Sunday. Could you give me a list of a bunch of free Ipod touch apps? thanks

SECOND QUESTION: I already have some songs and a few apps on my Ipod. It is 8gb and second generation. Whenever I plug in the ipod and itunes opens up, I'm asked to update to 4.1
If i update my ipod, will all my data be wiped out?

You could download social apps such as facebook and things like skype and msn.

And i suggest you update, IOS4 is great. and no it will not wipe anything. just make your ipod touch even more fantastic ! :D
