While reading a "Les Blondes" comic I came across a strip that I did not understand at the end because the punch line was not quite clear. French is only my second language so when I was translating it into English, the humor was lost on me.
Vanessa and her friend Anne are in the cell phone store and the manager is telling them information about the phones. Anne asks about the service providers and he says "Vous avez le choix entre les trois operateurs nationaux... Bouygues? Orange? SFR?" and Vanessa (who is the dumb blonde) says "Non, elle sait pas encore faire mais elle va apprendre. N'est-ce pas ma cherie? Vous la prenez pour qui?"
From what I could tell Vanessa is saying "She does not know yet but she will learn. Right my darling? Which will you take?"
So, you can see why I am confused here. My translation is obviously way off. Vanessa appears to be using some french that I know but organizing them in ways that I am not accustomed to. Perhaps some slang or phrasing that only a common french speaker would get. Help please? Explain these phrases and the punch-line of the joke? Thanks a lot!
