FTA channel receiver?

I'm in Canada and trying to learn about (FTA) Free to air channels. I'm looking to acquire a specific channel that is offered by FTA but I need a receiver of some sort. Where can I find these cable box/ receivers? do they sell them in stores?
 
There are dealers, but you need to look for the good ones. Quite a lot only exist to serve the piracy market.
