in episode 1 there was a fiend thing when ed and other guy tried to summon there mom what was that?

then in episode 4 they tried to summon her which im preety sure it was backing up episode 1 at the start but then it was a tencticle thing can anyone explain what the hell happened without doing spoilers thanks
 
The ugly thing in the beginning when they tried to bring their mom back to life was their failed attempt to do so.

Telling you more about it IS a spolier and you didn't want that.

Oh and you're right. Both the part in the beginning and the other episode are backing each other.
 
they made a humonculis trying to bring back the mom. thats all i can say without ruining it. ed lost an arm and al lost his body to do this. then ed gave up his arm to save his brother in the suit. have fun i love that show. check this site for all your free movie and tv show needs www.icefilms.com
 
Its complicated and explaining it would definitely involve spoilers.. just watch it and it gets explained.
