Get a Honda ATV Key Made?

I bought a 2002 Honda 400EX tonight and the guy only gave me one key and I am afraid of losing it so I was wondering how to go about getting a new key?

Do I have to pay dealer prices or can any locksmith copy my key for me for a spare?

Also is it a good idea to use the spare and keep the factory one in a safe?

You should be able to find a lock smith that can copy the key for you. Then I would use the copy and keep the original safe.
