Getting a replacement for damaged BlackBerry Bold 9700 and was wondering...?

If I need to disassociate my emails from the handset I have right now before adding them to the replacement one? If I don't will there be any problems with receiving emails on the new handset?
Also heard that if you register online that it will automatically send my contacts my new BB Pin?

i didn't bother taking email off my old bb to my new one...when i set my new one up it just asked if i would like to automatically move emails to this handset and update information
