HI,
Got a 2000 gmc pickup truck 250,000 miles on it and still runs great.

The problem occures every once in a while..the truck won't start period. The battery is good.. the starter activates yet the enginge won't turn over??? .( doesn't even try to turn over)
The pump comes online and we tested two out of the 8 sparkplugs/sparktest..seemed normal to us.
We figured that the engine would try to turn over if 1 of the 8 was good ..we even tried using starting fluid on it with no avail..

The truck is acting like it is wet..we let it sit for a day or two and it fires right up...starts up without a problem.

well the tech told me to try starting it and holding the excelerator down?? it caught this time and started right up. Five minutes previously it wouldn't.

so what is going on?..orignally I thought it's distribtor cap is cracked or has a bad spark plug wire or somehow is wet? the truck has more of a pack configuration than a distribor cap per say.
I drove it around..shut it down and it started right back up without a problem..
The tech told me that standing on the gas lets the throttle open more/lets more air in....by why would that now allow the truck to start?
