Going on a Disney cruise and have a couple of questions about the kid's club?

I have a 4 year old and what to know how the kids club works on the Disney cruises. Ca you drop them off at any time or do you need to schedule times for them to go there? It seems like there would be so many kids in the kids club that it would be full all the time. Also do they watch your kids while the adults areoff the ship on an excursion?

Any other tips for going on a Disney cruise would be great.

They do have set hours for the kids club, but it is a very loooong day-- from before breakfast til past bedtimes. You can drop your child off at ANY time, though they do post a schedule of 'special' events, like a character dropping by or movie night or arts and crafts, so you can make sure your child can enjoy those experiences.

They know about how many kids there are of each age group and so they make sure they have enough 'counselors' to safely watch that many kids. If there aren't that many parents dropping their kids off, then those counselors have other assignments that they can do.

Tips: Make GOOD friends with your waitstaff and cabin stewards. They can make things really fun and easy for you. Our waiter always sent dessert back to our room with us because we always ate so much that we got stuffed and didn't have room for dessert.

If there are people in your group who might go off on their own (other adults or older children) make sure you bring a cheap white board with erasable marker and a magnet for your door. You can jot notes to each other so you always know where every one is (headed to the pool, be back in time for lunch.....took baby to kids club, meet me in the spa at 10.... etc) Even if you don't bring a white board, DO bring some sort of ribbon or magnet for your door. Those hallways can be long and all the doors look alike. Something obvious on your door will help you find your room quicker.
 
The clubs have certain hours... but I think its like SUPER early in the morning til VERY late at night... you can drop your kid(S) off and pick them up whenever you want... it works the same way babysitters work... they look after your kids when YOU need them too :)
