good SUV for teenager?

Im a teenager with 15 g's lookin for a good SUV. I know i will get an SUV because I live in Colorado and I need it when I go offroading and driving up the mountains so dont tell me to get a small car. I like the nissan xterra but its a little over my budget. Are there other SUVs that are cool but affordable? I was looking into land rovers too. Also dont tell me to get a Jeep because my friends have them and i dont want to look like a douche and get the same car.
 
There are so many SUVs available. Make your choice. Some dealers may have a POV catagory (Previously Owned Vehicle) that come with new car warranty and less than 60 K miles. Some SUVs have very low mileage, at very good prices. Ask around, avoid high mileage vehicles or one with a hand full of little problems. Look in the local newspaper for used vehicles from private parties. Check very carefully for insurance costs for any minor under 25 years of age.
