...an overnight hospital stay? I am going to have surgery to remove part of my jaw and replace it with a bone graft from my hip. I know that I will want to resume my running routine as soon as possible (perhaps wearing a mouthguard for protection). I normally run everyday no matter how bad the weather is, how busy my schedule is, or how sick I may feel. I know there are other people out there whose love of exercise battles their better judgment and wins. Please tell me how it went for you (did you faint? Were you ok? Did anything terrible happen?).

Any anecdotes or thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Do NOT go jogging right after. You need to let your body heal completely. Exercise isn't healthy if your body is in recovery mode. Give it time to rest. You'll be fine.

If you can't stop yourself from exercising you may have a problem. Exercise is great in moderation, but when it comes to healing your body needs its rest.
