I myself wanted others to like me, so I'd joke around and pick on them a bit. You know.... for a laugh. And BOY did I laugh. Good ol' belly laughs at the people I liked and loved.
They lie.
What IS shameful is being mean, arrogant and rude. Giving a thirsty man vinegar to drink is like making fun of someone that actually just needs a hug.
We resort to maligning others for our own amusement.... and ALSO because a sense of humor makes us likable, right?
What we don't see is that it has the opposite effect.
People despise a mocker.
