Have believers picked up on a rather "dark" gospel? (blood for sin)?

All the gospels say Christ died for our sins. When Jesus said "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life", the Way involved Him dying for us so that our sins could be forgiven. I'm not sure one can know the presence of God without forgiveness; and when one experiences God's gracious presence one is aware of His purity. I don't think we can enter His presence without our sins being dealt with - and provision was made by Jesus.

While Christ was dying on the cross, he then said "It is finished"

How slow we all are to believe. Christ by His suffering and death, taught by example that if we love Him we must be willing to suffer all things for His sake. Not many of us are called to make such extreme sacrifices. But for many of the Christians in such places as India today, the call is there.

Christ knew the crucifixion was coming and he broke the news by saying: "The light will be with you just a little while longer."

Now, Christ also said that his job was to preach the gospel (Luke 4:43), and said that he had completed the job that God sent him to do (in a prayer before the crucifixion).

So the light was shining when Christ was delivering his Kingdom Gospel (which was not about blood for sin), and was not shining when Paul said "Christ died for our sins" long after Christ was gone.

And believers tell me that Christ's own Apostles did not even know that the crucifixion was "good news for mankind" after he had been preaching the gospel to them for over two years!

So is the conclusion that believers passed up the Gospel Christ delivered when the light was shining, but picked up on the blood gospel that came along in the darkness after Christ was gone?

If you understood Jewish history, you'd realize the connection.
The lamb which was sacrificed at Passover provided salvation.
When the temple was built in Jerusalem, sacrifice was common.
Mankind understood the symbolism of blood meaning life.
