HDMI to DVI question?

I just want to make sure I have my facts straight before I go and purchase an item.

My TV monitor has no HDMI port but does have a DVI port. If I purchase a HDMI Female To DVI Male Adapter, will that mean I can connect a HDMI plug into this to receive HD sound and visuals for my PS3 and other HD devices?
 
u could but the graphics wont be High definition since the monitor itself doesn't have a HDMI port.
it really depends on ur monitor if its a high definition or not.
