About a month ago, my 12 year old son started acting in ways that have made me have to wonder what is going on. I started monitoring his Yahoo! Messenger conversations on the computer, and found out he's getting into things he shouldn't.
He caught on very quickly to this, and has started using Yahoo! Messenger on his phone to contact the guy he's getting in trouble with. I managed to see a couple of the conversations, and they were even worse than what I saw on the PC. But he caught on again, and has started deleting all the conversations with the individual in question.
I don't want to get rid of his phone or remove Yahoo! Messenger from it, as it is the best way to keep in touch with him, and the only way he can keep in touch with some of the family. And even if I did remove Yahoo! Messenger, he would probably just install it again.
What I need to know is if there is some way to monitor these conversations remotely. I think all messages go through the same network, whether done from the PC or the phone, so I would think there must be some way to see these conversations. I'm afraid that he will get into very serious trouble, or worse. Please, if anybody knows how I can monitor his conversations, let me know!
