help with a diet pepsi addiction?

Um i wanna know why diet pepsi is so addicting my mom says it isn't the caffine in it 'cuz this morning she had 3 cups of coffie and that has caffine but she still wants a diet pepsi so for lent she gave up 2-3 pops a day and now can only have 1 a day but y is it so addicting ( it's not caffine) what else shood she drink?
