I am running a summer day camp and I need nutrition activities that I can do for the participants. Ages 6-12

Teaching the kids to make apple sandwiches is a great thing for kids this age to do.

Slice apples (the adults should do this).
Have kids spread peanut butter on one slice, put raisins on them and add another slice.

This is great teaching nutrition, and its a good snack,

Make up some kind of game using the foods from the food pyramid. If it is a game that uses physical activity, that would be even better. Maybe you can cut a food pyramid into a bunch of pieces and then hide them and the kids have to run around, get the pieces, and put the puzzle together. If you are wanting snacks to make, teach them how to make interesting shapes out of vegetables and fruit. There are lots of great websites out there. Here is one suggestion: http://www.dole5aday.com.
