Here is a serious question need help to get answered about my truck/car???

Ok i have a 1987 toyota pickup 4X4 5 speed, and its broke down right now(motor blw up) but my parents said they would spend like $6,000 to fix it, like new rebuilt motor transmission etc.. or i can use that mone 6K to buy a car for this summer. So im not a 100% sure wat to do. Ive wanted a 87 Toy since i was like 10yr old, and finally got it. but need help on my decsion thanks

This is a hard one! I am a fan of older cars/trucks. Traditionally, what I drive is about 2 decades old.

However, if you are going to drive an older car/truck, you need to know a little about fixing them -- or else be married to someone who knows!

Frankly, $6000.00 sounds like WAY more than you need to replace the engine in your '87 Toy. I would think that you could get it done for less than half that.

Deciding whether to fix it or replace it is a very personal decision.
