howdy, first off i have never owned a motorcycle. I took a motorcycle safety course last summer and passed it to get my endorsement. I have been looking into getting a ninja 250 for a first bike but i dont want to get bored with it and sell it. my question is...Is a honda cbr 600 to big for a beginning rider to start out on? I know for a fact that i wouldn't be trying to hit 130mph on the first day i got it. Im not an idiot and i don't want to die. ha ha, im a pretty quick learner and it didn't take long at all for me to get use to riding in the safety class. let me know what u guys think.

thanks alot,

matt

No one is going to try and do 130mph on it when they get it. That is no different that a 16 year old promising his girlfriend that if she sleeps with him, he will marry her. You are making innocent promises yes, but once you get a few miles under your wrist, you will become what we call "overconfident". That is when you become a danger to yourself and others. Start on a 250 and gain experience. If you are true to what you say about fearing the bordem of it, then you will definately be trying to do 130mph in no time flat. You are already thinking about speed just by that comment. No one on here will say otherwise that has real experience and has half a brain. Just read on and you see.

honestly man its way too big ...
start with the ninja work up ..
fill out your donor card and enjoy...
some buzz dropping your knee in the corners so have fun ..
