how can i add more horse power to my 1997 dodge Dakota V8/318?

I just got this Dodge and am not too amazed by how much power/speed it has, its in good shape for the year around 100.000 miles on it, what can i do to make this truck more mean ? and have more balls, not looking to spend big money just few Hundred here and there maybe.
 
a few hundred? Like $300? Not much for that price that will make a difference and really make it worth it -

if you were talking like $750 you could look at a cam change, an aluminum intake and dual exhausts - that would wake this up a bit

Remember a pickup has a lot of weight and bad aerodynamics so that will work against you
