How can i configure the gps on my att fuze?

I have google maps installed and i want to use it so that it is actually accurate to within atleast 100 feet. Right now the radius of where i am is where i at but it would still not be close enough if i were lost and trying to find my location. When i click on enable gps in the menu it tries to initialize the gps but then i get an error message saying no gps receiver was found. I have the settings to say windows manually detect gps settings. Is there something that i am missing? Is the gps locked or something?
