how can i get my 8800gtx to run in full 1080p?

I'm getting a new monitor this weekend and it is full 1080p. Currently on my 8800gtx the max resolution is 1280x1084. Will that change when my new monitor comes in? I believe I have the latest drivers so I'm kinda confused... I thought this card could run full 1080p.
