How can I get nail polish off a dvd?

i spilled clear nail polish on a DVD
I tried nail polish remover but it made it smudgy and won't play!
 
The DVD is destroyed. They put a coating on the disk to protect it from scratches. That coating is dissolved by the acetone and will make the disk unreadable. It may be possible to completely remove the whole coating, but that would be a large amount of work.
