I have 2 rockford fosgate p3's hooked up to a 2000 watt amp witch is for some reason hooked to my battery and keeps draining all the juice out of it. I was wondering what i could do or get to prevent the amp from killing my battery all the time. My buddie hooked up everything for me but isn't around anymore so basically stuck with a 1,000.00 system that i cant use because my battery aways dies. Thanks for any help.

the remote wire(blue 14 gauge) coming from the amp(usually next to the power and ground) should be hooked up to the remote wire coming from the head unit(blue wire with white stripe usually) this wire carries a small amount of current to tell the amp to turn on when the radio turns on. if this is hooked up to the battery directly or just jumped from the power wire, your amp will always be on & constantly drain the battery

Put a kill switch between the power drain and the battery, perhaps one that disengages the battery ground post.
