in such debt? and all the other white house spending like on Christmas decorations and round the clock personnel chefs and putting in a basketball court... shouldn't they be doing a better job first?
didn't say anything about Obama. i was talking about needless spending by a president during a recession
 
a lot of these changes to the presidential limo is due to increased security that is required in the world. as far as chefs go the first family has a chef ,yes but he is not on around the clock. the first family does have a kitchen with a refrigerator in it for mid-night snacks. as far as your Christmas spirit if you ever watch the history or the learning channel, you will learn that all the trees and decorations are made by people in all 50 states and are hung on the tree by volunteers. so in reality very little is spent on decorating such a huge place like the white house. in comparison to a house like yours. well maybe not yours
 
Because in the grand scheme of things the cost of those things is basically nothing.
 
you don't expect Bush to drive around in a stationwagon do you? so why should Obama?
 
Well it's where they will live for the next four years at least. they deserve to make the house their home.
 
The Limo was ordered under Bush too so blame him. There is no basketball court, yet. There is no Obama, yet. All the other spending you mention is what every president gets. Let's all give the man a chance to get sworn in before he gets blamed for everything wrong in the world.
 
They get paid quite a lot....Yeah, they should be worried about important things...but they're sorta like little kids in a candy shop with allowance money.
 
Because the average citizen really doesn't care when they wine and scream that they do.
 
Now I doubt many people would want their president driving around in an old car without proper security features.
 
Thats what you do when you move into someplace you redecorate every president that comes into office does this hes the president he represents us as a nation he should have the best, he represents the best. He hasnt even taken the oath yet, you gotta give him at least six months to see the direction his office will go
