how can you transfer photos from lg cu515 (cell phone) to macbook? PLEASE HELP!!!?

i normally send it through text message, but that doesn't always work and when it does, i can't open it to edit or post it anywhere. it opens as a secure download on my macbook so it doesn't let me do anything to the file. PLEASE HELP!!!!
