How come Citroen (and a couple others) left the American market?

Citroen has some nice models, from what I've seen online and on car shows like Top Gear... And brands like Renault and Peugeot aren't too bad.

But my question pertains to why the French decided to stop selling cars in the US market? Just wondering...

They were horribly unreliable cars and expensive to fix. Once people figured that out they stopped buying them.

Same reason you don't see Fiat, Yugo, and several OTHERS being sold. NO DEMAND. People want quality cars for the most part. Those names and quality do not go together.
