How come everytime I go OTR truck driving I get homesick and quit?

I already went 3 times OTR and after the 5th or 6th day I start getting homesick and want to go home.

How long does it take to get used to it?
 
There are several kinds of OTR drivers. There are the sane ones, who work for companies that send them out on Sunday, and have them home by Friday. And then there are the kind who let companies run them ragged, sending them out and leaving them out for weeks or months at a time.

Sounds like a a week is your limit. You'd do well to investigate the kind of work the company does before signing on.

well i did try out trucking but i didn't get homesick, i more of realized that i wouldn't have any time to really enjoy what i had, i didn't want to be making all these payments and only have about 5-6 days a month to enjoy them, but only way i can think of to overcome homesickness is to fight it and stay out on the road
