HELPPPPPPPP!!!

Most early colonial settlements had only one church. In Massachusetts if you didn't go to church every day, shop owners wouldn't do business with you and you'd wind up a pariah. In the Southern colonies, while religion wasn't as strictly enforced, it was the social gathering place and it's where local economics were arranged, discussed, and deals made. So it was vitally important to go to church as often as possible in order to stay up with current trends and news.
