How do I charge my iPod nano on the Goodmans gcr1872 radio/iPod dock?

I have one of the new nano chromatics and recently got the Goodmans gcr1872 alarm/radio/iPod speaker/dock, which says on the box that it charges up the iPod too. There are two adaptors for nanos (I think for the orginial nano, and the 2nd gen nano) that go on to it, but my ipod only fits in the one for the original nano and when I put it in, it plays music fine but comes up saying "charging is not supported with this accessory." Do I need another adaptor? Or is my speaker just not compatable with the new nano?
