how do i come up with an interesting rap topic?

I get hype, get my Microsoft Word open and find a beat on YouTube. I create a somewhat interesting chorus and ONLY put out about half a verse. THEN my flow doesn't exactly match the beat. I'm close but no cigar. Do i just need to practice practice practice or am i missing something??
