How do I connect my Sony Ericsson J108i to the AT&T 3G network?

Call me crazy but I put down my iPhone 4, and got another candy-bar style Sony Ericsson phone (I love this type of Sony Ericsson phones, I used to have the C902 but it broke). My concern is I just got this phone today, and got a new sim card for it at my AT&T place. However I am only on the EDGE network. I know that this phone is capable of 3G but when I go to the connectivity options and select GSM and 3G it still shows no sign of 3G. How do I connect this phone to AT&T's 3G?
