although this will all probably sound like I'm just venting i am curious if i can pursue any form of action toward this officer.
Tonight i was hanging with my girlfriend cruising and i felt like pulling over to stop at a park. We weren't there long and the cops showed up. My keys were in the ignition and i would have had no problem leaving.
The officer asked for mine and my girlfriend driver licenses and told me to put my hands on the steering wheel. She rudely asked me questions and I complied without question. I respect the badge, the uniform, and am just grateful that there is law reinforcement to protect and serve, but tonight i felt harassed and she made sure to go out of her way to degrade my girlfriend and I. The officer asked what city we were from and i responded "i am from San Bernardino and she's from Ontario". After a few minutes she returned with our driver licenses and gave me a parking ticket and told me "to hang out in my own city and not in West Covina". I felt offended by this remark, i felt it was unnecessary and don't understand why i should have to be confined to "my city" and be banned from driving around anywhere in this country i am a citizen in.
Nowhere did it say the park was closed but i could understand it was a little too late to be there so i would of gladly left had the officer asked or even given me a ticket for trespassing but my girlfriend and I felt wronged. I was scared to ask questions or even for the officers badge number in fear that she would have harassed me more in doing so. I have the officers name on the ticket and will pay the ticket because i respect officers but i complied with the officers every request and for her to go out of her way to make us feel like crap is unacceptable to me. I have encountered nice cops and jerk cops and i don't believe cops have to be nice but they are not above the law and we as citizens should be able to voice our opinions and report these officers and either make them change their attitude or get off the streets, because tonight this officer did her job poorly and hopefully another officer can answer me this question because i have so much respect for you guys protecting our neighborhoods and to have this happen is a shame.
