How do I get a newer dvd player to work with my Sanyo TV?

I have an older Sanyo DS 25380 TV and I cannot find a channel station for the TV to recognize and display the DVD input. It only has a Coaxial jack in the back, so I got an RF Modulator and now the channel is the issue. I have the hookups configured right and I have tried channel 3 and 4. Still nothing.
 
You can buy a coaxial splitter that has to switch to change usage. How old is this TV? It must be from the 80s if it doesn't have at least one composite source in jack in the front or on the back.
 
You need to tune it in and maybe change the frequency of the modulator but you need to also make sure it doesnt interfere with existing tv signals.
