I just got a job at Gamestop, a small store in the mall here. We're supposed to stop what we're doing and greet every single person who enters the store. Well, the problem is, I've been an introvert ever since I was a teen, thus have no social experience. I feel kinda awkward every time I greet someone, because I immediately have to say something like,

me: "Hello, do you need help finding anything?"
them: "No, thanks"
me: "Alright, well, if you have any questions just let me know."

not to mention the phone calls: "Thank you for calling Gamestop where you can preorder blah blah blah, this is blah, how may I help you?"

They make me say so much I feel like I have to talk faster than the speed of sound.

It just feels awkward, like a scripted thing I say to every single person... and there's a lot of people that come to the store. Its even more awkward when they're already looking at a product and I have to do it... it just seems I'm bugging them, almost harassing them by going up to every single person...

Any tips so I can move away from script and not weird people out?
