Well it has 4 optical and one coaxial input for digital sound. If your DVR, DVD player, and TV has any of these outputs, use a toslink cable or coaxial cable to connect them to the receiver. If not, use the red and white RCA cables. It won't give you true surround this way, but it's better than nothing.
