How do i hook up my ps3 to internet through a wired connection ?

i have ps3 40gb and i have AT&T internet service i tried everything so far i pluged the ethernet cable to the ps3 and to the back of my modem the IP adress succeds but the internet connections fails its says its a dns error everytime i called sony they couldnt help i even called motorola my modem company and they couldnt help either SO SOME PLEASE HELP dying to play online
 
its called a router buddy.. that will solve all ur problems!! with a wireless router you can have WiFi!!
